If you want to attain success and fame or want to be the next big thing, you know that standing out from the crowd is extremely important. It is imperative that you constantly keep the eyes on yourself. Once you lose the attention of everyone, you are in danger of becoming irrelevant or being unsuccessful. Everything is judged by its appearance and what is unseen counts for nothing.
With that said, I had this friend that wanted to make a huge impact in the world and be the next Steve Jobs. He started trying to invent things at a young age and kept going till he was in college. During his freshman year, he built a website that got really famous and opened the path for success. The website was the perfect opportunity for him to accumulate fame and make an impact.
Unfortunately, my friend was not able to keep the eyes on him which led to him and his website being irrelevant. The website turned into another seasonal trend that became a missed opportunity. During the peak of the website, my friend got various opportunities to present himself as a rising star, however, he chose to act modest and tried to fit in with the crowd.
If you do not want to become just another seasonal trend or another person doing the same thing, you must make yourself a magnet of attention by appearing larger, more colorful, and more mysterious than everyone else. Think about all the season trends we have seen online and the opportunity the creators of some of those trends missed. Make sure you do not end up in the same situation!
We wish our readers don’t just simply read this story but rather also reflect on the lessons mentioned. See if you can implement any of the lessons taught in your life.
Book: The 48 laws of power by Robert Greene
- Court attention at all costs
“Everything is judged by its appearance; what is unseen counts for nothing. Never let yourself get lost in the crows, then, or buried in the oblivion. Stand out. Be conspicuous, at all costs. Make yourself a magnet of attention by appearing larger, more colorful, more mysterious than the bland and timid masses.” – Robert Greene, The 48 Laws of Power
Think about all the season trends we have seen online and the opportunity the creators of some of those trends missed because they failed to keep the eyes on them. Make sure you do not end up in the same situation!
